Talking- no one...everyone has gone away :(

Thinking- my goodness why am I writing this so early?

Watching- The Golden Girls

Well goodness gracious! I have been delinquent (sp?). I haven't written you since Monday. I should be ashamed of myself...and I am. Okay, on to the details.

TUESDAY

It was really nice to have a day off. I got up at like 9:30 AM and made myself some biscuts. Yummy! I took my grandmother out to Panera for lunch. I wasn't sure if I was going to see her before I moved back to college, so today was the perfect day to take her out. After lunch I took grandma to Claire's to get her ears re-pierced. Carol wanted me to take her to Merle Norman, but I didn't see why she should pay more to go to some fancy place when she could get her ears pierced at Claire's for a whole lot less. Anywho, after the ear piercing fun we went to the Rack Room to look for shoes. I bought a pair of boots, but I passed on buying a pair of new tennis shoes. Okay, I'm going to go off on a tangent and complain about the price of tennis shoes. I refuse to pay $69.99 for a pair of shoes. Maybe I'm just spoiled, but I think paying that much for shoes is just ridiculous. After I went to the Rack Room, I did check for some shoes at Proffits, but they were all overpriced too.

WEDNESDAY

My last day at work! Yeah! Colleen had called in an old kitchen worker to help Fernando, the new Argentinian chef. It was a little hard to work with Fernando on Monday because he just doesn't understand English very well. All in all, it wasn't a bad day. After work I went for my allergy shots. Right after I got home from the allergist I got a call from Carol saying she wanted to go to Lupi's, a little pizza place right down the road from where I live. After dinner, we went in search of those elusive cheap tennis shoes. We went to every single department store and sports store in Northgate and didn't see anything...that is until we went to Sears. They had a bunch of shoes on sale. I managed to buy a pair of Avia's for around $30. That's a whole lot better than paying $70 for a pair of New Balance shoes. I ended up going back to Carol's after shopping to watch "Gosford Park." It was sometimes a little hard to understand, but a good movie nevertheless.

THURSDAY

Okay, so that would be today. I got up at 6:50 (!) this morning to take CJ to the vet. I was worried about getting him into his carrier, but he was so hungry from having food withheld that he followed me around all morning. Poor CJ. In addition to having to get knocked out to have his teeth cleaned, he's gonna be shaved down. His hair has just become so matted that there was nothing the could do but shave him. He's gonna be bald. On the way to the vet this morning, I got to listening to the morning radio. I can't tell you how old I felt. Last year, I remember that it seemed weird to be driving through school zones and no longer going to high school. Now, it feels so distant. I'm telling you, one year of college changes everything. I'm sure next year I'll want to invest in a walker.

Okay, so this may be my last post before I go back to college...or not. It all depends on how busy I am tommorow. It really hasn't set in yet that I need to pack up to move back. I've done a whole lot of nothing to get ready.

I love the Golden Girls!

Later that day...

So CJ sorta looks like a really small lion. Like a midget lion. He was really groggy after I brought him home, so I put a liter box in the bathroom and left him there until he got his legs back.

As a final note before I move back to school, I want to mention how upset I am about what's going on in Prague. First it got flooded, then there was a chemical spill that leaked chlorine gas into the air, and finally, the Russian mob tried to destroy the city in "XXX" with Vin Diesel. Now, my attachment to Prague isn't a normal attachment. The Czech Republic is the land of my ancestors. It's the only country in the world where you can drive down the street and see your last name written on the side of a car. I fell in love with Prague when I got to visit eastern Europe my junior year of high school. It's such a charming little city, and it just kills me to see washed away. Pray for Prague!
